2019-20 Budget Approval:Mary explained the new budget for this school year. Approved by Kim and seconded by Marta

Old Business:

New Student Welcome great! It’s Shanins last year but she wants to place signs in yards next year. It’s free to new families and we delivered 73 this year.

Boosterthon did well! Last year we brought in $17,000 and this year we did $29,266.64. Our goal was $20,000. Thank you to all those who donated and help out. We plan to spend the money for classroom supplies and technology. New this year Becky posted on Facebook. That may have helped our total grow.

Teacher Appreciation had a breakfast during training. Before curriculum night they went around with a cart of soda and candy bars. They are having a raffle where 3 or 4 teachers will win a prize every month. Also they are going to do a school supply cart with classroom supplies.

New Business:

Grants teachers fill out their needs and we try to fulfill them. The forms are going out in the next few days.

Bingo is Sept. 13th from 6:30-8. We are going to sell Bundts, pizza, and water. Bundts are $5 and it will be cash only. Smencils, spirit sticks, and spirit wear will also be sold. Need volunteers. Set up is at 6 and clean up is from 8-8:30.

Spirit Wear due Sept. 13th. It’s up on Toolkit for purchase. Shanin will sell at Bingo.

Room Parties sign up will go live on Toolkit on Sept. 15th at 9pm. On Sept. 18th ish it will be open for multiple party sign up. Add a link to the $5 donation. Give the teachers a list of the people who still owe the $5 and a list of the parents attending the parties. Have 1 person pass out the money and email the teacher with a list of activities.

Box Tops we are still able to send in the paper clips until they expire. Brought in 164 this month and Mrs. Lamb’s class won the monthly contest with 76. Brought in $20.40 so far this year using the app. The app is simple and easy to use. Buy the products, scan the receipt, and we earn the money. If they do not accept the receipt fill out the prompts on the screen. It took more than the 2 days it said but after a week they were credited to the school’s account.

Minutes Approval:Motion to approve the April 2019 minutes by kim seconded by Kwynn.

Board News: We are going digital next year! We are going to be using a program called Membership Tool Kit. Everything we do will be on this website. You can pay for all of your events, smencils/spirit sticks, Spirit wear, and yearbooks at 1 time. Even volunteer opportunities to will be on this site. Room party sign up will be on this site. Fun Run pledges will be on it. You will be able to make a donation page for your child. We will be charged a fee every time someone makes a purchase so we plan to have it up and running for the start of school. It is a secure site and committee leads will have access to the page for their committee. They will be able to see how many people have paid, volunteered, and to send emails to the parents signed up.

Principal’s Message:Last month of school! We have less than 20 days of school left. Finishing up STAR testing next week. Picnic Day, Field Day, ABC countdown at grade levels are all happening this month. Picnic Day is where kids will eat lunch with their teachers outside.

Mr Buono’s Message: This was the first year he applied for a grant. He had been using a free version of Moby Max (an online math game) for his students in his classroom and power ½ hour. The kids really enjoy it. The kids us the Chromebooks for this program at school but can also access it at home. Students and teachers can send messages to each other. The teacher can check individual and class progress. This part can be time consuming. The students he had using this program raised their scores by large amounts.

Old Business:

Fun Fair was good. Turn out wasn’t as high as in the past. We had plenty of volunteers. Made less money we think because of the other events going on in the area. The free science kits were great. Couldn’t have do it without our great volunteers. It was a good idea to put a parent volunteer in the teacher’s lounge with the food for breaks. It helped to cut down on any issues in there. It was suggested to maybe have it on a Friday night.

4th grade Breakfast Buddies was great. Had plenty of food and volunteers. Kwynn does not have a 4th grader and was on his spring break but still ran an event. That was really good of him.

Trivia Night was so much fun! It was at the Oswego Brewing Co. Teachers and the principals came. Both principals were trash talking through emails before the event. It was a good crowd with good food.

Daddy/Daughter had the most girls attend since they started on the committee (about 290 girls). The girls were a little destructive. Candy wrappers were found in places they should not have been and the took down decorations when they shouldn’t have. Pictures in the library, DJ in the gym, and snacks in the cafeteria. DJ was great but had trouble with getting his equipment working in the beginning.

Spiritwear we are getting field day shirts. Each grade is a different color. Orders due May 10th. No late orders or extra shirts.

Teacher Appreciation is next week with an around the world theme. Donations will be needed.

New Business:

5th grade Breakfast Buddies is May 24th at 8:00.

5th Grade Celebration is May 24th until 3:30. It’s an escape room/Hollywood theme. We have 12 volunteers this year. Using the Daddy/Daughter dance leftover decorations.

Treasurer’s Report: Motion to approve by Nick seconded by Shanin

Committees for 2019-2020 If you want to change the date or time for your event it needs to be done at the beginning of summer since we meet with Mrs. Budd over the summer.
